Description
The Jade Plant (Crassula ovata) is a slow-growing succulent native to South Africa. It has smooth, shiny, dark green leaves that sometimes develop red edges when exposed to bright light. As it matures, the plant develops thick, woody stems that give it a miniature tree-like appearance, making it popular for bonsai styles.
Because it stores water in its leaves, the Jade Plant requires minimal watering and thrives in dry indoor environments. It is long-living and can grow for decades with proper care. In ideal conditions, mature plants may produce small, star-shaped white or pink flowers during winter.
Jade Plants are widely kept in homes and offices due to their attractive look and low maintenance needs. They are also associated with positive energy and wealth in Feng Shui traditions.
